The Double Creek Courier
Week of October 30
Principal's Letter
Happy (almost) Halloween!
Thank you to everyone who attended the Trunk or Treat event. What a great time we had and I canāt wait to start that as a regular tradition here at Double Creek.
Next week is Halloween. Costumes are OK, but there are some rules to follow:
Costumes must be SCHOOL APPROPRIATE - No blow-up or oversized costumes - students should be able to fit into their desks and chairs.
No pajamas. Underwear and shoes must be worn. Clothes should not be low-cut or revealing
Masks or weapons of ANY KIND ARE NOT allowed at school.
Since our big event was the Trunk or Treat, we wonāt be having a costume parade.
Have a great week and please be safe on Tuesday evening!
All treats and no tricks,
Dr. Wilson

Attendance Matters!
As we all know, cold and flu season are upon us. We wish for all our students to stay healthy always. However, we understand there could come a time when they are not feeling too well and need to stay home. Please read the following information regarding our attendance policy. More information is also available in the Jarrell Independent School District Parent and Student Handbook under Absences/Attendance.
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education to benefit from teacher led and school activities, to build each day's learning on the previous day's, and to grow as an individual.
When a student is absent, the student must bring a note to the attendance office within three days of the absence. After three days, parent notes may not be accepted and the absences will be considered unexcused. A maximum of three (3) parent notes per semester will be accepted as excused.
